Mama Shabz pop-up

A WIZARD IN THE KITCHEN. BUT ONLY FOR ONE NIGHT AT A TIME.

WHERE:  Panda Noodle, Lausitzer Pl. 12A, 10997 Berlin.

U / S BAHN: Görlitzer Bahnhof.

THE DEAL: The incredibly gifted Shabnam a.k.a Mama Shabz brings her epic Pakistani cooking to Berlin in pop-up form to Panda Noodle.

THE FOOD: ‘Nihari’ - Pakistan’s national dish, which is Mama’s signature dish. It’s a lamb shank stew, slow cooked soaked in fragrant spices for at least 8 hours before serving so the meat comes juicy and so tender that it simply falls off the bone. This meaty feast is all served up and garnished to your taste with crispy fried onions, green chilli, coriander, ginger, lemon served with a warm Roti (traditional bread). The menu is also friendly for the more veggie and vegan eaters among us. The Vegan “Haleem” is a sizzling bowl of Seitan slow cooked spiced stew cooked with several grains & lentils. Again, all served up and garnished to your taste with the same crispy fried onions, extra spice, ginger, lemon, fresh mint & fresh coriander served warm Roti (perfect for mopping up the juices). Everything is delicious and you’ll be sorry that Mama doesn’t yet have a permanent spot in town. Drinks provided by hosts Panda Noodle and range from beer, softs, wine, all the usual.

THE PRICE: Nihari €10, Vegan Haleem €9.

PAY BY: €ash / Reserve your ticket via Facebook and event brite.

BEST FOR: Sunday evening feasting in multiple sittings.
