A HIDDEN GEM, NIGHT KITCHEN HAS BEEN DESIGNED AS "THE PERFECT NIGHT OUT" ACCORDING TO THE OWNER. SO IT MUST BE TRUE. BUT SERIOUSLY ITS PRETTY DAMN GOOD. EXPECT TO FEEL AT HOME WITH NO-STRESS TASTY FOOD, DRINKS AND A BAR TO SIT WITH FRIENDS AND LOVERS ALL NIGHT LONG....

THE DEAL: Cosy setting, off a quaint courtyard with tasty sharing plates served sharing family style in the middle of the table. The outdoor terrace is an absolute find too.
THE FOOD: Firstly its bloody good. Secondly we love a bit of communal food sharing. It means we can try more food, plus it sets the tone (something between "I'm so relaxed I could be at home with my feet up" and "sh** could get crazy tonight"). This place would be perfect with a crowd to try the "dinner with friends" option; a selection of sharing dishes picked by the staff with personal recommendations. However, we were only two so our order remained quite minimalist and we decided to go a la carte. Firstly we need to talk about the bread; brioche-style with whipped tahini-cumin butter, a sort-of melt in your mouth scenario. If you aren't starving then try a mouthful of heaven a.k.a. the scallop with green onion, chili oil, fennel cream and nutmeg. Our friend M had the gazpacho - fresh and light, its everything you want from a cold soup. Next came the baked eggplant, tahini and whipped salsa (we could have had three of them). And finally the White fish in spicy carrot ginger tomato sauce, labne and tahini; perfectly cooked, flakey fish. If you've got any bread left (which if you're like us without a hint of self-restraint you probably won't because its so good) then mop up the sauce; tomatoey but still creamy from the tahini, expect it to devour it in minutes. For the carnivores there also some tempting options; slow-cooked short ribs, porchetta, veal sweetbread, braised beef salad. We were feeling too full for dessert and instead opted for another drink (I know we are CRRAZZY). But if you have a sweet tooth, the menu means business; tiramisu, chocolate peanut butter cake and night cheesecake.
THE DRINKS: Delicious cold cava. Need we say more? There's a nice selection of wines and beers and proper cocktails that aren't too messed about, but taste spot on (their take on the Negroni otherwise called "Negron" is ace).
THE PRICE: Prices are not too bad when you consider the quality and creativity of the food, great location and generally seamless experience. For the dinner spread with friends you pay €38 per person for pretty much all you can eat of the best the chef has available. The special Challah bread with tahin butter is a €3. Smaller vegetable dishes like the aubergine plate are around €9 and the larger fish and meat dishes start from around €17. All desserts are €8.5.

BEST FOR: Spending a night with friends without any desire to go anywhere else. We've also heard that the courtyard brunch is worth a try so stayed tuned for our next visit...
