THE FOOD: Clad with wooden interiors, washed walls and neutral tones, Passo automatically spells out ‘relax’. And if the rustic and spacious setting doesn’t make you feel calm enough, the modern, clean-looking and succinct menu is guaranteed to make you feel at ease. No sifting through pages of pizzas or columns of pasta… Passo have fine-tuned their menu to offer seemingly simple dishes that once tasted prove comforting, creative and full of classic Italian flavour. With an aperitif of Aperol Spritz, Prosecco or Negroni, your night is inevitably off to a good start.
If you’re feeling hungry, opt for two small plates to start, followed by a main of pasta, pizza or meat. The showstopper of a small plate has to be the Zucchini Chips cooked in Mint and Basil Oil, accompanied by the creamiest block of Burrata you ever did taste. Puncture it with your knife and see its melt-in-the-mouth consistency, which is complimented perfectly by the crispy Zucchini Chips. Other small plates include Gnocchi Truffle, Krispy Kale with Chilli, Lemon and Garlic Aioli, Broken Meatballs in Spicy Tomato Sauce and Parmigiano, Charcutrie, and Malfatti with Spinach and Ricotta in Pomodoro Sauce and Chopped Parsley.
Although there are a few options for chicken, steak or salad, main course is really all about the pizza/pasta vibes at Passo. The acclaimed ‘Truffle 2 Ways’ clay oven pizza with Buffalo Mozzarella is a must-try for the truffle fanatics. They also have meaty faves of Spicy Salami and Prosciutto, and veggie options such as Wild Mushroom, Spinach, Gorgonzola and Thyme.
Passo Pastas are da bomb! For a tender, juicy slow-cooked meat option, go for the Slow Braised Pork Cheek Tagliatelle with Egg Yolk or the Slow Cooked Beef Pappardelle Ragu cooked in Tomato Sauce and Parmigiano. Both equally comforting if you’re craving a classic Bolognese-style pasta. For a lighter, fresher tasting dish, try the Linguine with White Steamed Mussels with Chilli, Garlic and Parsley. For a vibrant veggie dish, try the absolutely delicious Ravioli with Roasted Pumpkin and Sage with brown Butter and Amaretti (!) or the Mushroom, Truffle and Creamy Tagliatelle.

Head back for your favourite pasta dish or to try something new off the menu with the changing seasons. There’s always space for a last-min duo to prop up at the open-air kitchen bar – just call a few mins before to check there is space!
