Boom Cycle + Antipode
And BOOM… we’re back in the fitness game! Kick-start January with a morning rave-ride experience followed by incredible coffee by aussie’s who know wtf they are doing.
START: Boom Cycle Hammersmith, 10 Hammersmith Grove, W6 7AP, London.
FINISH: Antipode London, 28 Fulham Palace Rd, Hammersmith, W6 9PH, London.
THE WORKOUT: A Boom Cycle special called “Boom Jungle” is set to unleash your wild side at 7:30am on Tuesday 15th January. If you can’t make it, these guys run their regular high-energy, music fuelled spin classes at the same time every week. In case you didn’t know, Boom Cycle is the spin studio brand that brings epics beats to forty-five minute high intensity indoor cycling and occasionally do special themed event rides to switch things up and get you even more pumped. “Boom Jungle” will start Tuesday in epic style with a live DJ and sweaty endorphin-fuelled workout. Cut loose and get your heart-rate going with a curated jungle playlist. Embrace your sweaty animal side (we don’t give AF) and cycle out all your troubles and worries. It’s not about what you look like, its all about being present, enjoying the moment, experiencing how fucking awesome your body is and sweating as one. The studio is also fully kitted out with showers (which btw are stocked with everything you need to get ready for the day post spin) so you can be in and out in one hour if you need. Talk about efficient.
THE COFFEE: By day its a busy coffee and café, by night its a laidback cocktail and natural wine bar. Antipode has basically created post-workout heaven. Since its the morning and you've just smashed life with an epic workout you’re likely to be down for grabbing a coffee on your way to your next thing. Luckily coffee is at the heart of what Antipode does. They are supplied by London’s Square Mile Coffee Roasters and along with their regular coffee, they select a range of coffees from roasters from all over the world (which you can also snap up and buy). available to purchase in-store. They also use the latest gadgets to get you that perfect brew. As always we recommend the flat white with oat (the deep roast and slightly bitter flavour of the coffee was perfection). They also do one hell of a good matcha latte. Superfood smoothies change weekly, but are perfect post-workout vitamin fuel.
FYI: If you like what you hear then you might like to come back at the weekend for brunch. Antipodes's Aussie influence means that all plates are seasonal, healthy and fresh. There are plenty of vegan and veggie friendly options, like kimchi and melty vegan cheese toastie, a delicious acai bowl (plus they are also rumoured to have one of the best smashed avocado plates in London).
THE PRICE: A single class at Boom Cycle is £18 (as is the event Boom Jungle). Five rides costs £85 or pay £135 to go unlimited. Antipode coffee: cortado £2.6, flat white £3, long black £2.6, matcha and turmeric latte £3, fresh pot of tea £3. Superfood smoothies £5 and fresh juices £5. Soy, oat, almond and coconut milk are all an extra £0.5. Brunch dishes range between £6.5-9.5.
BEST FOR: Getting back on it after the Christmas and New Year holidays. Just because you’re doing dry January doesn’t mean you can’t party.
