Spirit Yoga Mitte + Father Carpenter

THE DREAM-TEAM SATURDAY MORNING YOGA + BRUNCH. NOTHING ELSE TO ADD.

MAP 5.png

START: Spirit Yoga Mitte - Rosenthaler Str. 36, Aufgang, 10178 Berlin.

FINISH: Father Carpenter - Münzstraße 21, 10178 Berlin.

U - BAHN: Weinmeisterstraße.

THE WORKOUT: YOGA. duh. But also Pilates if you fancy. For early-birds there is a Pilates class every Saturday from 9:30- 10:45am. Otherwise we recommend the Level II class from 10:00- 11:30am. If you're still getting to grips with your practise then the Level I class at 11:00am might be the one to go for. Expect a dynamic vinyasa flow sequence and then bask in peaceful Savansana. They also have massage and a Sauna - double win.

THE FOOD: Get your hands on some of the best coffee in Berlin. And food. We had their latest Summer bowl of tapenade toast, roasted eggplant & zucchini, white beans and vegan aioli with tomato, red pepper & chiaseed compote. It went down far too quickly. Our friend (lets call him M) opted for the Avocado on Sourdough with extra poached eggs - the sluttiest dish on Instagram but with good reason. An additional salad and sprinkling of black sesame seeds and chia was a nice touch. They also have poached eggs on toast and then you can add extras (including avo) but we were advised that ordering this way round the portion would be smaller and M was famished.  If you've still got room, order a round of the banana bread with homemade jam and nut butter because its banging (and pretty dense).

THE PRICE: For newcomers pay €25 and get three classes. A single regular class is €23 and if a new teacher delivers a class then you get it for €12. Unlimited membership gets you access to all classes for €95 (and there are three studios you can visit across Berlin). Brunch at Father Carpenter has the potential to get dangerous for your wallet (everything is so god-damn good). First the flat white benchmark where Father Carpenter comes in at €3.40. Avocado on Sourdough is €9.70 as is their Summer bowl.

BEST FOR: Starting your weekend right. Plus you're then next to all the shops for a Saturday browse.
